Sci-Fi Movie Monsters and Distortions Unlimited history collide with our Invasion of the Saucer Men collector bust. This is NOT a mask but a foam-filled, latex collector bust that includes the head and sculpted collar.
Paul Blaisdell created the aliens for the 1957 Science fiction/comedy horror film Invasion of the Saucer Men. In the early 1980's we produced a very limited number of masks from Paul Blaisdell's original molds and movie prop. The mask was already hard to find and highly collectible in the 80's. We have decided to rerelease Invasion of the Saucer Men as a collectible bust available in two colors. The film was in black and white but the original creature was orange. However, in all the posters and publicity they used green aliens. We are offering both!
In 1983, Distortions Unlimited was able to obtain Paul Blaisdell's Brain Mold, ear molds, and an actual prop used in the making of Invasion of the Saucer Men. A mold was made of the face and neck of the prop. Then the Brain, Face, and Ear molds were all poured and masters made. The individual masters were then seamed together. Ed added veins in clay and a new master mold was made. A few Foam Masters were then made from the master mold. Later, Tom Savini got one of the Foam Masters which later went to Jordu Schell and then Distortions got it back from Jordu. We then made production molds from the foam master that we used to create the collectible bust we are offering today. What a journey across space and time.
